Hello? Is anyone out there? Please send Baccino’s Pizza and deliver a large bottle of wine!! Haha, just kidding (well only a little bit…) It’s been 20 days since I have moved to the suburbs and things are definitely different than city life, however I am being slightly dramatic because although its a big change, things are going pretty well.
I still have boxes strewn about that need to be unpacked (it’s a slow process), but I have been settling in quite well. Winston really enjoys having other dogs to play with and he loves having a large backyard to run around in. One downside, and it’s kind of a major one, is that I have to commute to the city each day for work, which means I take an hour long train ride there and back each day. While I do like having the extra time for reading, I miss being able to get up 30 minutes before work, throw on some clothes, and still make it to work with time to spare. Those days are long gone. I now have to leave the house at 6:30am and let me tell you I’m getting tired of it. However, living in the suburbs definitely has its perks. Here are some things that I have been enjoying the past few weeks:
- CLOSET SPACE!!! (Words cannot express how excited I am about having a closet that is bigger than a shoe box)
- Free parking
- A driveway and a garage
- Large backyard with grass
- Washer and dryer that don’t require quarters to run
- Cheaper gas
- Living with my fiance
That is just a start to what I’m sure will be a long list. While I do miss my old apartment and the time I spent there, I know there are many more exciting things to come in the future. I think I am going to get along with the suburban lifestyle just fine.
